ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 24 -- United States Patent no. 12,558,382, issued on Feb. 24, was assigned to MESOBLAST INC. (New York).
"Repair and/or reconstruction of invertebral discs" was invented by Peter Ghosh (Fairlight, Australia).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "This invention relates to a method for repair and reconstitution of invertebral discs in a subject which involves administration of STRO-1+ multipotent cells. The method of the invention is useful in the treatment of spinal conditions characterized by degeneration of the invertebral disc."
