US Patent Issued to Melexis Technologies on Sept. 8 for "Soft force sensor" (Swiss Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 8 -- United States Patent no. 12,730,021, issued on Sept. 8, was assigned to Melexis Technologies SA (Bevaix, Switzerland).

"Soft force sensor" was invented by Theo Le Signor (Bevaix, Switzerland), Gael Close (Bevaix, Switzerland) and Nicolas Dupre (Bevaix, Switzerland).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A soft sensor arrangement for measuring a force includes a sensor, a deformable element deformable by the force, and an element for reacting with the sensor for measuring the force by a deformation of the deformable element.
