US Patent Issued to Medtronic Navigation on May 13 for "Wireless pressure measurement and monitoring for shunts" (Colorado Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,295,709, issued on May 13, was assigned to Medtronic Navigation Inc. (Louisville, Colo.).

"Wireless pressure measurement and monitoring for shunts" was invented by Brad Jacobsen (Erie, Colo.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed is a system that includes pressure sensors to assist in monitoring pressure at a selected location. Pressure sensors may be applied to or incorporated into catheters and/or shunts positioned within a patient. A monitoring system may then receive signals from the pressure sensors to monitor pressure at the location over time."
