ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,602,933, issued on April 14, was assigned to Magna Electronics Inc. (Auburn Hills, Mich.).

"Vehicular sensing system with occlusion estimation for use in control of vehicle" was invented by Ashesh Goswami (Somerville, Mass.) and Kevin S. O'Brien (Somerville, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A vehicular sensing system includes a sensor disposed at a vehicle. The vehicular sensing system generates a three-dimensional point cloud of data representing a three-dimensional scene exterior of the vehicle within a field of sensing of the sensor.
