US Patent Issued to LG Electronics on June 30 for "Direct communication" (South Korean Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,672,181, issued on June 30, was assigned to LG Electronics Inc. (Seoul, South Korea).

"Direct communication" was invented by Sungduck Chun (Seoul, South Korea).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A disclosure of the present specification provides a method for performing direct communication by a first UE. The method may comprise the steps of: transmitting, to a second UE, a request message for establishing a unicast link; and receiving, from the second UE, a response message regarding the request message."
