ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,630,719, issued on May 19, was assigned to Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis (Riga, Latvia).

"Fluorescent acridinium salts, synthesis thereof and use for detection of cardiolipin" was invented by Pavels Arsenjans (Riga, Latvia) and Pavels Dimitrijevs (Daugavpils, Latvia).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to a novel substituted acridinium salts as fluorescent dyes, as well as methods of their manufacturing and use of the disclosed compounds for the detection of cardiolipin."

The patent was filed on Sept. 11, 2020, under Application No. 17/777,506.
