ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 20 -- United States Patent no. 12,529,471, issued on Jan. 20, was assigned to Kuzco Lighting LLC (Las Vegas).
"Strap lighting" was invented by Nathan Yang (Surrey, Canada) and Ryan Pauly (New Rochelle, N.Y.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed here are systems and methods for improved modular lighting systems wherein a flexible fabric is woven with conductive material and connected to a power source. A modular and repositionable light module is then electrically connected to the flexible fabric and thereby power the light module by way of the woven conductive material."
The patent was filed on Sept. 4, 2024, under Application No. 18/824,775.
