ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,538,759, issued on Jan. 27, was assigned to Kulicke and Soffa Industries Inc. (Fort Washington, Pa.).

"Methods of determining a height, and a height profile, of a wire loop on a wire bonding machine" was invented by Basil Milton (Fort Washington, Pa.), Wei Qin (Fort Washington, Pa.), Zhijie Wang (Fort Washington, Pa.), Vladimir Pribula (Fort Washington, Pa.) and Pavel Shusharin (Fort Washington, Pa.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method of determining a height value of a wire loop on a wire bonding machine is provided. The method includes the steps of: (a) imaging at least a portion of a wire loop using an imaging system on a wire bond...
