ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 14 -- United States Patent no. 12,680,357, issued on July 14, was assigned to Kohler Co. (Kohler, Wis.).
"Slow close pivot door" was invented by Mark Andrew Lister (Martin, Tenn.) and Nameer Shaaban (Lewiston, N.Y.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A pivot door system is provided that may include a door, a doorframe, and a hinge attached to the door. The doorframe may include a header, which may include a track system. The hinge may include a soft close mechanism. The hinge may be engaged with and securable at a plurality of positions along the track system of the header."
The patent was filed on May 14, 2024, under Application No. 18/663,885.
