ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,404,843, issued on Sept. 2, was assigned to KES-TECH GROUP GMBH (Bahrendorf, Germany).

"Wheel generator" was invented by Andreas Von Schuttenbach (Ingolstadt, Germany) and Maik Kraus (Magdeburg, Germany).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to a wheel generator, namely a converter for obtaining electrical energy in a rolling wheel of a vehicle from the deformation of the wheel tire due to contact with the road surface, a system for obtaining electrical energy including the converter, as well as a vehicle or wheel including the system."
