ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,577,555, issued on March 17, was assigned to Kenkichi Masutomi (Tokyo).

"Screening method for telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) phosphorylation inhibitors" was invented by Kenkichi Masutomi (Tokyo) and Mami Yasukawa (Tokyo).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention provides a method for screening for a telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) phosphorylation inhibitor using TERT or a fragment thereof, and a TERT kinase."
