ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,503,410, issued on Dec. 23, was assigned to KATHOLIEKE UNIVERSITEIT LEUVEN (Leuven, Belgium).
"Lignocellulose refinery" was invented by Bert Sels (Westerlo, Belgium) and Yuhe Liao (Guangzhou, China).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "In general, present invention concerns an integrated lignocellulose-to-chemicals biorefinery, enabling production of renewable n-propylbenzene, phenolic oligomers, and carbohydrate pulp from lignocellulosic biomass. And it concerns an integrated biorefinery, enabling production of renewable n-propylbenzene, phenolic oligomers, and carbohydrate pulp from lignocellulosic biomass."
