ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 7 -- United States Patent no. 12,593,970, issued on April 7, was assigned to KARL STORZ Imaging Inc. (Goleta, Calif.).
"Medical stroboscope system" was invented by Pieter Henderikus Andries Bos (Tuttlingen, Germany) and Timothy King (Goleta, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A system, method, scope device, and camera control module device for a video endoscopy system, to enable scopes to operate with a rolling shutter-type image sensor. With selected pulsing of a strobe light, subset image data from adjacent rolling-shutter frames is selected, gain compensated for missing light and combined into a new single video frame."
