ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,409,128, issued on Sept. 9, was assigned to KAO Corp. (Tokyo).

"Shampoo comprising a silicone blend and a ternary surfactant mixture" was invented by Naoyuki Yamazaki (Sumida-ku, Japan) and Hiroki Fujinaga (Sumida-ku, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A detergent comprising (A) at least one selected from the group consisting of (A1) a carbobetaine type ampholytic surfactant and (A2) a nonionic surfactant, and (B) a quaternary ammonium cation-modified silicone. A mass ratio [(A)/(B)] of the component (A) to the component (B) is 0.1 or more and 1,000 or less, and the content of an anionic surfactant is 4% by mass or less."
