ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 7 -- United States Patent no. 12,595,385, issued on April 7, was assigned to Kao Corp. (Tokyo).

"Inkjet inks" was invented by Yuta Matsumoto (Cincinnati) and Daniel Sandker (Cincinnati).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An inkjet ink that includes (A) a terpene phenol resin and (B) a compound of formula (I) wherein R is an alkyl group having 8 to 22 carbon atoms or an alkenyl group having 8 to 22 carbon atoms, n is 0 or 1, p is an integer from 1 to 40, and q is an integer from 1 to 40. A printed article including the inkjet ink in dried form, and a method of forming a printed image with a thermal inkjet printhead are also provided."
