ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 7 -- United States Patent no. 12,672,747, issued on July 7, was assigned to iRobot Corp. (Bedford, Mass.).

"Evacuation station" was invented by Russell Walter Morin (Burlington, Mass.), Faruk Halil Bursal (Lexington, Mass.) and Harold Boeschenstein (Marblehead, Mass.).

The base includes a ramp having an inclined surface for receiving a robotic cleaner having a debris bin.
