ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,648,991, issued on June 9, was assigned to Intervet Inc. (Rahway, N.J.).

"Oral respiratory vaccine" was invented by Rhonda L. LaFleur (Omaha, Neb.), Jennifer C. Dant (Elkhorn, Neb.), Ian Tarpey (St. Ives, Great Britain) and Zhichang Xu (Omaha, Neb.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention is drawn to new oral live canine parainfluenza virus vaccines and related multivalent vaccines. Methods of using the vaccine alone or in combination with one or more other protective immunogens in multivalent vaccines are also provided."

The patent was filed on Dec. 17, 2020, under Application No. 17/783,228.
