ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 7 -- United States Patent no. 12,598,725, issued on April 7, was assigned to Intel Corp. (Santa Clara, Calif.).

"Conformable cold plate for fluid cooling applications" was invented by Berhanu Wondimu (Beaverton, Ore.), David Shia (Portland, Ore.) and Xudong Tang (Sammamish, Wash.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Methods, systems, and apparatus described herein relate to a conformable cold plate for fluid cooling applications. An example method includes re-shaping a tube to contour non-uniform surfaces; and assembling a fluid cooling assembly using the re-shaped tube, the re-shaped tube capable to transfer fluid for cooling of one or more devices."
