ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,607,008, issued on April 21, was assigned to Illinois Tool Works Inc. (Glenview, Ill.).
"Joint edge insert" was invented by Darrell A. Wiatrowski (Libertyville, Ill.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A joint edge insert positionable in a gap between two joint edge members of a joint edge assembly attached to two adjacent concrete slabs, and configured to provide structural support for the joint in cooperation with the joint edge members to reduce joint spalling."
The patent was filed on March 29, 2023, under Application No. 18/192,399.
