ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,536,869, issued on Jan. 27, was assigned to IGT (Las Vegas).

"Accumulating and redeeming universal game elements" was invented by Michael DeBrabander (Reno, Nev.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Systems and methods that accumulate a universal game element, wherein upon redemption, one or more attributes of that universal game element are determined based on which of a plurality of games are triggered to be played."
