US Patent Issued to Hyundai Transys on July 14 for "Swivel device for vehicle seat" (South Korean Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 14 -- United States Patent no. 12,679,254, issued on July 14, was assigned to Hyundai Transys Inc. (Seosan-si, South Korea).

"Swivel device for vehicle seat" was invented by Heejun Park (Hwaseong-si, South Korea), Chan Ju Kim (Hwaseong-si, South Korea) and Ki Young Yun (Hwaseong-si, South Korea).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A swivel device for a vehicle seat includes a rotary part including a ring gear, a first pinion gear connected to a first motor and configured to engage with the ring gear, and a locking device configured to restrict a rotation of the rotary part when an external force is applied to the rotary part when the rotary part is in a stopped state."
