ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 24 -- United States Patent no. 12,559,187, issued on Feb. 24, was assigned to Hyundai Motor Co. (Seoul, South Korea) and Kia Corp. (Seoul, South Korea).

"Walking vehicle" was invented by Ernestine Fu (Superior Township, Mich.), Grey Parker (West Bloomfield, Mich.), John Suh (Palo Alto, Calif.), Daniel Chan (Superior Township, Mich.), David Byron (Southfield, Mich.) and Prasanna Natarajan (Aldie, Va.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A walking vehicle including a chassis and a plurality of wheel-leg components is described. The plurality of wheel-leg components are collectively operable to provide wheeled locomotion and walking locomotion."
