ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,623,182, issued on May 12, was assigned to HITACHI GE VERNOVA NUCLEAR ENERGY LTD. (Ibaraki, Japan).

"Filter for removing radioactive noble gas, filter unit and reactor containment vent system" was invented by Shigenori Matsumoto (Tokyo), Atsuko Ueda (Tokyo) and Takahisa Matsuzaki (Tokyo).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A radioactive noble gas removal filter, a filter unit, and a nuclear reactor containment vessel vent system with improved durability are provided.
