ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 7 -- United States Patent no. 12,596,792, issued on April 7, was assigned to Hewlett Packard Enterprise Development LP (Spring, Texas).

"Data encryption detection" was invented by Alex Veprinsky (San Jose, Calif.), Charles F. Clark (Roseville, Calif.), John Blumenthal (San Jose, Calif.) and Ayman Abouelwafa (Roseville, Calif.).
