ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 24 -- United States Patent no. 12,582,674, issued on March 24, was assigned to Hemanext Inc. (Lexington, Mass.).

"Methods and treatment of trauma" was invented by Andrew Dunham (Tower Lakes, Ill.) and Tatsuro Yoshida (West Newton, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Methods for the reversal of hemorrhagic shock or hemorrhagic trauma. Methods for reducing levels of aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) in a trauma patient through the administration of stored oxygen reduced blood products."
