ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,418,973, issued on Sept. 16, was assigned to Helion Energy Inc. (Everett, Wash.).
"Apparatus and methods for generating a pulsating, high-strength magnetic field" was invented by David Kirtley (Seattle), Richard Milroy (Sammamish, Wash.), Anthony Pancotti (Kenmore, Wash.), Christopher James Pihl (Woodinville, Wash.) and George Votroubek (Monroe, Wash.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A magnetic field system is configured to generate intense, dynamically-varying magnetic fields to confine and control particles, objects, or plasmas. The magnetic fields may pulsate to impart and directly extract energy from a plasma."
