ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 2 -- United States Patent no. 12,490,039, issued on Dec. 2, was assigned to Harman International Industries Inc. (Stamford, Conn.).
"Generating head shapes suitable for synthesis of head-related transfer functions" was invented by Alfredo Fernandez Franco (Sherman Oaks, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed embodiments include techniques for generating a clean 3D shape of a portion of the human head of a subject from a 3D scan that includes overlaying surfaces that occlude a portion of the head, where the overlaying surfaces where, the overlaying surfaces are acoustically transparent, such as human hair.
