"Multiple uplink carriers in a cell deployed in unlicensed spectrum" was invented by Shiangrung Ye (New Taipei, Taiwan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Processing hardware (134) in a base station (104) can implement a method for configuring uplink communications in an unlicensed spectrum. The method includes selecting a first uplink carrier and a second uplink carrier for a cell to operate as a normal uplink carrier (NUL) and a supplementary uplink carrier (SUL), respectively, with at least one of the NUL or the SUL operating within one or more unlicensed bands...
