ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 7 -- United States Patent no. 12,596,898, issued on April 7, was assigned to GM Global Technology Operations LLC (Detroit).

"Vehicle-based quick response code scanning method" was invented by Chuan Li (Troy, Mich.), Jinzhu Chen (Troy, Mich.), Bo Yu (Troy, Mich.), Fan Bai (Ann Arbor, Mich.) and Brittany L. Pletscher (Oakland, Mich.).
