ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,533,318, issued on Jan. 27, was assigned to GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals SA (Rixensart, Belgium).
"Jet mixing lipid nanoparticle manufacturing process" was invented by Maria Monica Castellanos Mantilla (Rockville, Md.) and Andrzej Stanislaw Pitek (Rockville, Md.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Improved methods for manufacturing a non-viral delivery system comprising a liposome encapsulating an RNA using a microfluidic device and compositions for use therein are provided."
The patent was filed on Aug. 28, 2020, under Application No. 17/638,916.
