ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,629,338, issued on May 19, was assigned to Gilead Sciences Inc. (Foster City, Calif.).

"Pharmaceutical formulations comprising tenofovir alafenamide and emtricitabine" was invented by Joanna M. Koziara (Foster City, Calif.) and Scott McCallister (San Francisco).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention provides a solid oral dosage form comprising tenofovir alafenamide or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and emtricitabine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof."

The patent was filed on Jan. 16, 2026, under Application No. 19/451,093.
