ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,297,226, issued on May 13, was assigned to Gilead Sciences Inc. (Foster City, Calif.).

"Compounds and methods for treatment of viral infections" was invented by Elaine Bunyan (San Francisco), Byoung-Kwon Chun (Pleasanton, Calif.), Kassibla E. Dempah (San Francisco), Hon C Hui (San Mateo, Calif.), Rao V. Kalla (Cupertino, Calif.) and Richard L. Mackman (Millbrae, Calif.).
