ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 7 -- United States Patent no. 12,674,003, issued on July 7, was assigned to Genzyme Corp. (Cambridge, Mass.).

"Site-specific glycoengineering of targeting moieties" was invented by Luis Avila (Arlington, Mass.), Clark Pan (Sutton, Mass.), Huawei Qiu (Westborough, Mass.) and Qun Zhou (Ashland, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The current disclosure provides binding polypeptides (e.g., antibodies), and targeting moiety conjugates thereof, comprising a site-specifically engineered glycan linkage within native or engineered glycans of the binding polypeptide.
