US Patent Issued to General Electric on May 5 for "Unducted airfoil assembly" (Ohio, New York, Massachusetts Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,618,329, issued on May 5, was assigned to General Electric Co. (Evendale, Ohio).

"Unducted airfoil assembly" was invented by Kishore Ramakrishnan (Rexford, N.Y.), Daniel Lawrence Tweedt (West Chester, Ohio) and Valeria Andreoli (Watertown, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An unducted airfoil assembly includes an airfoil defining a leading edge, a trailing edge, a root, and a tip. A forward-most axial point of the leading edge is radially located at or greater than sixty percent of a tip radius of the airfoil when the airfoil is oriented at a design orientation for subsonic cruise operation."
