US Patent Issued to Gatik AI on Sept. 9 for "Drive-by-wire vehicle architecture" (California Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,409,824, issued on Sept. 9, was assigned to Gatik AI Inc. (Mountain View, Calif.).

"Drive-by-wire vehicle architecture" was invented by Alexander Schmitt (Mountain View, Calif.), Andreas Bauer (Mountain View, Calif.), Apeksha Kumavat (Mountain View, Calif.) and Gautam Narang (Mountain View, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "In variants, the vehicle can provide redundant drive by wire subsystems that are operable in both an autonomous (AV) mode and manual driving modes."

The patent was filed on Dec. 20, 2024, under Application No. 18/990,966.
