ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 16 -- United States Patent no. PP36,696, issued on May 20, was assigned to Garden Genetics (Columbus, Ohio).
"Dianthus plant named 'G22089'" was invented by Richard A. Grazzini (Columbus, Ohio).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A new and distinct cultivar of Dianthus plant named 'G22089' is disclosed, characterized by large bright red flowers with rounded, overlapping petals. Healthy glaucous blue-green foliage exhibits good field tolerance to common Dianthus pathogens. The new variety is a Dianthus, normally used for outdoor ornamental purposes."
The patent was filed on Oct. 24, 2024, under Application No. 18/925,698.
