ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,576,131, issued on March 17, was assigned to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Seattle).
"Altering inflammatory states of immune cells in vivo by modulating cellular activation states" was invented by Matthias Stephan (Seattle).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Systems and methods to modulate the activation state of immune cells in vivo are described. The systems and methods can be used to transform immunosuppressive macrophages that support cancer growth and metastasis into highly activated tumoricidal macrophages."
The patent was filed on Jan. 18, 2019, under Application No. 16/963,119.
