ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,697,871, issued on Aug. 4, was assigned to Flyer Next LLC (Los Angeles).
"Electric axle system with different gear ratios" was invented by Bruce Falls (Dove Canyon, Calif.) and Oded Nechushtan (Marina Del Rey, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The electric axle (e-axle) system having variable gear ratios is disclosed. The e-axle system can include a first axle assembly having one axle gear ratio and a second axle assembly having two or more axle gear ratios that are selectively and independently controlled. In addition, each of the first and second axle assemblies is independently controlled to be in a neutral position."
