US Patent Issued to FEDERAL SIGNAL on March 31 for "GPS directed ultra-high pressure runway cleaner" (Florida Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 31 -- United States Patent no. 12,589,887, issued on March 31, was assigned to FEDERAL SIGNAL Corp. (Downers Grove, Ill.).

"GPS directed ultra-high pressure runway cleaner" was invented by James P. Crocker (Stuart, Fla.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A GPS directed vehicle for cleaning airport runway surfaces. The vehicle uses an ultra-high pressure washer for cleaning rubber off the surfaces of the runway, and a vacuum system for the collection of debris. A GPS device allows an operator to track a cleaning line so as to allow no more than 25 mm overlap of surfaces to be cleaned.
