ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,410,317, issued on Sept. 9, was assigned to FAIRCRAFT (Evry-Courcouronnes, France) and KING'S COLLEGE LONDON (London).

"Engineered skin equivalent, method of manufacture thereof and products derived therefrom" was invented by Ingvar Helgason (South San Francisco, Calif.) and Dusko Ilic (London).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed herein are synthetic leathers, artificial epidermal layers, artificial dermal layers, layered structures, products produced therefrom and methods of producing the same."
