ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,577,397, issued on March 17, was assigned to DUPONT SAFETY & CONSTRUCTION INC. (Wilmington, Del.).

"Flame-resistant garments and fabrics with yarns comprising a polymer blend of meta-aramid and polyvinylpyrrolidone" was invented by Mark William Andersen (Charlottesville, Va.), Mark T Aronson (Midlothian, Va.), B. Lynne Wiseman (Richmond, Va.) and Reiyao Zhu (Moseley, Va.).
