ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,606,712, issued on April 21, was assigned to Drexel University (Philadelphia).
"MXene compositions featuring five atomic layers" was invented by Yury Gogotsi (Warminster, Pa.), Christopher Eugene Shuck (Philadelphia), Babak Anasori (Fishers, Ind.) and Grayson Brouse Deysher (San Diego).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided are 5-layered MXene materials having the formulas M5X4Tx; (M'aM"b)X4Tx (where a+b=5); and (M'aM"b)5X4Tx (where a+b=1). Also provided are related methods, compositions, and applications."
The patent was filed on Oct. 9, 2020, under Application No. 17/767,083.
