ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,441,846, issued on Oct. 14, was assigned to Dow Silicones Corp. (Midland, Mich.).

"Elastomer with C-O-Si linkages between polyester backbone and crosslinker" was invented by Ryan Baumgartner (Midland, Mich.), Shane Mangold (Midland, Mich.) and Zachary Wenzlick (Midland, Mich.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A composition containing an elastomer, the elastomer characterized by having a polyester backbone crosslinked with a crosslinker and having a carbon-oxygen-silicon linkage between ester groups and crosslinkers."

The patent was filed on Sept. 5, 2023, under Application No. 19/102,442.
