ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,662,346, issued on June 23, was assigned to DMT Solutions Global Corp. (Danbury, Conn.).

"Automated control of on-edge envelope stacking" was invented by Boris Rozenfeld (Danbury, Conn.), Xavier A. Padros (New Milford, Conn.) and Matthew O. Dickie (Sandy Hook, Conn.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention provides systems and methods for controlling on-edge stacking of mailpieces and maintaining a constant ideal stack pressure of a given stack of mailpieces in an autonomous manner."

The patent was filed on Feb. 23, 2024, under Application No. 18/585,479.
