US Patent Issued to DISCO on July 14 for "Transport carriage" (Japanese Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 14 -- United States Patent no. 12,679,660, issued on July 14, was assigned to DISCO Corp. (Tokyo).

"Transport carriage" was invented by Masaya Kotani (Tokyo) and Tsuyoshi Nakashima (Tokyo).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A transport carriage for transporting a workpiece by traveling on a transport passageway installed over a processing apparatus includes a receptacle for housing the workpiece, a storage area for storing the receptacle, a lifting and lowering unit for lifting and lowering the receptacle between the storage area and the processing apparatus, and a determining unit for determining whether the workpiece is housed in the receptacle or not."
