ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,685,465, issued on July 21, was assigned to Dexcom Inc. (San Diego).
"Wire-assembly apparatus for invasive biosensors" was invented by Ohseung Kwon (Sunnyvale, Calif.), Xianyan Wang (San Jose, Calif.) and Timothy Stowe (Mountain View, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "In some aspects, an apparatus for a biosensor includes a sensor wire and a rigid member. The rigid member may be coupled to the sensor wire and include a contact surface. The contact surface may be sized to enable a suction head of a robotic placement device to create a vacuum seal on the contact surface for lifting the sensor wire and rigid member."
