According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A work machine includes an implement that carries an object. A vision system detects the endpoints of the object relative to the implement and provides those endpoints to a damage avoidance control system. The damage avoidance control system generates control signals to avoid a collision between the object and a part of the work machine."
