ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,746,552, issued on Sept. 29, was assigned to CycloPure Inc. (Chicago).
"Methods for the destruction of polyfluorinated organic compounds" was invented by Gokhan Barin (Wilmette, Ill.), Olivia Therese Teodoro (Chicago) and Edon Vitaku (Marlborough, Mass.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Methods for decomposing PFAS in a solid are provided. The method comprises combining a solid comprising PFAS with a co-milling agent to form a mixture of PFAS and the co-milling agent, and milling the mixture in a ball mill."
The patent was filed on Sept. 25, 2024, under Application No. 18/896,201.
