ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 31 -- United States Patent no. 12,589,078, issued on March 31, was assigned to CureVac SE (Tubingen, Germany).

"Lipid nanoparticles for delivery of nucleic acids" was invented by Gemma Navarro (Tubingen, Germany) and Patrick Baumhof (Tubingen, Germany).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The application relates to cationic lipids and to compositions comprising said cationic lipids useful for the delivery of nucleic acids into living cells."
