ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,624,754, issued on May 12, was assigned to Cummins Inc. (Columbus, Ind.).

"Geartrain anti-backlash linkage" was invented by Bradley S. Adriaansen (Columbus, Ind.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A geartrain assembly includes a first gear, a second gear, and a third gear. A linkage connects the first gear and the second gear, and defines an assembly location of the third gear to connect the third gear to the first and second gears in a manner that minimizes a backlash in the geartrain assembly."

The patent was filed on May 31, 2023, under Application No. 18/326,345.
